Southwest Airlines does lie for sure. I see these posts about their lying. We had TWO Non-stop flights. Both were diverted due to LOW FUEL! Had to divert both times. Landed in Cleveland when we were due in Columbus. Then after fueling the plane we taxied the runway for 20 minutes only to arrive back at the gate. Seems since we were so low on fuel, they couldn't get the engine to start! OMG! They are logging bad weather but the TRUTH is they were low on fuel and couldn't remain in a holding pattern over Columbus. At this point I asked to debark and I'll just rent a car. They let us off and several SW employees- the flight attendant and the baggage handler and the counter lady assured us they were taking our bags off right then. When I asked how they knew which bags were ours since they didn't ask our names they CALLED THE POLICE ON ME! BTW They all lied. Our bags were not taken off the plane, in fact Southwest doesn't know where they are. We are currently driving a rental from Cleveland to Columbus for our luggage. Who believes I'll get my luggage? They lie, lie, lie. Now they steal and try to make ME a criminal. There was no need for the police. Even the cop shook his head after he heard their lies. They did make false statements to the police. They told him they were getting our luggage. I then explained to the officer they didn't ask our name so how do they know which ones? He couldn't help us.

We PAID for the ticket, but once you put an employee name one it,,,,you lose control. Southwest sucks!!!!!! Why would they not credit the person/company who PAID for the ticket with the credit towards future airline use? Well, they know if may never get used and they get to keep the money. Make it hard to use the credit....SCAM!!!!!!!

I recently flew your morning flight from Denver to Dallas and was talking to one of the other passengers about horses. When we boarded the aircraft, your CEO Mr. Gary Kelly was greeting passengers! He was on his way back to Dallas after a local meeting. When he heard me talking about horses, he mentioned that he was from Texas and was very familiar with horses. I told Mr. Kelly that my horse Ragamuffin was afraid of flying, and Mr. Kelly then offered to speak to Ragamuffin and later showed up at the ranch on his day off and spent some quality time with Ragamuffin! Well, Ragamuffin is still afraid of flying but does recognize a braying jackass when she meets one.

They have slowly become American Airlines. Currently A List Preferred w/ companion pass. On a CMH->DAL->AUS trip. WN 2696 from DAL->AUS was on time for a 8:45pm departure when we left CMH and during our flight. Upon Arriving DAL the departure was 11:15pm then 12:15pm. As were finishing dinner @ 8:30 the board changed to an on-time 8:45 departure. After quickly finishing and hustling to the gate - sorry, it's really 12:15am. I agree with the pilots' union, it's time for Gary Kelly to step down. He's turned SWA into AA.

Waited in line at MCO (Orlando) for 4 hours to be told that SW wouldn't be able to get me to my destination (LAS) for 2 days. SW business model doesn't allow for travel on other airlines. No help, no support, you are on your own. Booked a flight out of West Palm Beach, rented a car and got to fly on United through Newark to Las Vegas. Arrived at 11:05 PM of course missed my meeting on the day of travel. Out of pocket cost: $578.10 and a full day.

My daughters were to join me the next day. SW said their flights would not be cancelled. They waited in line for 3.5 hours and then were told their flights were cancelled. Booked them on American through Dallas to Palm Springs. Rented a car and drove the 4 hours (each way) to pick them up. Out of pocket cost: $549.26 and another full day.

SW tells you they "love" you. They don't love you, they love their profits. SW put your money were your mouth is and reimburse your customers for the expenses that you created for them. Maybe a class action suit will motivate SW to do what is right.

They kept on saying the computers were back up which made me stay in line; only to hear that they had failed again. SW Cancels my flight to Philadelphia on a Thurs. due to weather (sunny in LA (incoming plane), cloudy in Denver), says they can book one of us on Fri or both of us on Sat, we can choose. I asked about a flight leaving 5 min earlier to Wash DC and they won't switch my tix. I have to pay $600 more to fly to the nearest airport to my destination, Wash DC.

They get to claim its a "weather" delay and I get to fork $600 to fly the same day to a nearby airport or I can wait 2 days. Either way, I can have my money back with a smile.

Living horrible SWA experience. Flight 524 originally 1:10 departure delayed 2 hours to 2:55. Board plane @ 245. Receive update text delayed until 315. There is no AC on this 737-300 as we sit...

Living horrible SWA experience. Flight 524 originally 1:10 departure delayed 2 hours to 2:55. Board plane @ 245. Receive update text delayed until 315. There is no AC on this 737-300 as we sit in Las Vegas. It is well over 100 degrees outside. People are sweating and pissed. Get another update text that flight is now delayed until 340. Rear lav is broken. At 355 we are told we are going to leave. Plane backs up no more than a foot and there is an abrupt jolt to stop. We are informed that because of FAA guidelines crew can no longer fly. Told to sit tight on the plane with no AC while they try to find a crew. At about 415 we are told this plane is no longer flying to Oakland and we are getting off. In terminal we are told that SWA is diligently looking for a crew. At about 445 we are told that they are still trying to find a crew and are trying to fix our original plane. They did not mention that our original plane was still broken until now. It is a series 300 so I guess it kind of makes sense. There are three guys under our plane throwing there hands up in the air every few minutes. It is now 517 and I'm missing my friend from 5th grade wedding welcome reception. Thank you Southwest Airlines. You truly have sunk to the level of sucking at what you do. Ooo update, we are getting sodas for our inconvenience. Oh and we were just told that the older aircraft don't like the heat. You cannot write this shit...unless of course you are a passenger on Southwest Airlines.

Worst experience ever. Flight from DC to Houston delayed 5 hours. First they tell us that they can't take off because all Southwest departures are on hold. Then after waiting an hour and a half, the pilot says that due to FAA regulations he and co-pilot have exceeded their flight time and we'll have to get other pilots. So we go back to terminal and have to get off of plane. Five hours later we finally depart. Arriving in Houston five hours later caused us to miss our connecting flights. So we wait for 12 hours at airport for the next flight. Unbelievable.

After a horrendous experience with Southwest Airlines, I asked for a voucher and told Southwest I'd be a customer for life if they just made things right.... They did not accommodate me or my request so I purchased SouthwestStinks.com and SouthwestAirStinks.com for other people that have had horrible experiences similar to mine to vent about.

My flight from Nashville to Austin (with a connecting flight in Dallas) was originally scheduled for 3:30 P.M. CST May 27, 2016, delayed until 4:30 P.M., then I was told the connecting flight in Dallas was experiencing a further delay and it was suggested I take the later fight from Nashville at 8:05 P.M., that flight was delayed until 8:50 P.M., we finally departed at 9:00 P.M., and we're scheduled to land in Austin at 11:00 P.M., instead we were diverted to Houston and finally told that our flight was cancelled and would have to exit the plane and talk with somebody at the counter to try and arrange another fight. The earliest flight out was on Saturday at 10:00 P.M., May 29, 2016. This sounded absurd, in addition no accommodation for hotel, or rental car!? Every reason that I had chosen Southwest in the first place just now went out the window. I had to take a taxi from Hobby Airport to Bush Airport and then rent a car (delayed at 3:30 A.M.), then drive to Austin, only to arrive (8:30 A.M.) at Bergstrom Airport to a staff that didn't know where my bags were OR when they would arrive. Luckily I waited (9:30 A.M.) and found my baggage, but only to find that it was soaking wet and all of it contents were as well. Took another cab home (10:30 A.M.).... After all the time and money spent I contacted them on Twitter and told them make it right, they were just as unwilling to help as the poorly trained staff that I experienced at Hobby Airport.

We spent $300 for a ticket to Florida 6 months ago, and could not travel, so we have a credit. Did you know that this credit only lasts for 6 months? Wait a minute, this is MY MONEY. Why would Southwest get to do this. Is this even Legal. Now I have a trip and would like to use my credit (OF MY MONEY), and I can't use it now within 6 months, becuase the trip is after 6 months. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER fly them again.

I had earned two round trip tickets in the old SWA mileage program. Didn't they always promise that those credits would never expire - ya, I'm pretty sure that's how they advertised it....

I had earned two round trip tickets in the old SWA mileage program. Didn't they always promise that those credits would never expire - ya, I'm pretty sure that's how they advertised it. But, when they instituted their new program they fazed out the old credits - unless you paid a fee ($150.00) to extend them. So I did that, thinking that they would then be valid indefinitely. But no. They expired in 1 year and before I could use them. WTF kind of business practice is that? So, I say SWA sucks! And they do. SWA used to be a great airline back in day, prior to 2008. Now, they are like an older cheesy shadier version of their former self.

What I abhor about this airline is the fact that there are no assigned seats, and that only adds trouble. The unpleasant assholes (you don't want sitting next to you) come in at last minute and sit next to you. You ask them for a seat change and they put you in between a SOUTHERN STATE MOTHERFUCKER AND A SNORING YANKEE FUCK FROM NEW YORK CITY, THE CESSPOOL THAT GOT WHAT IT DESERVED IN 2001 with the putrid North Carolina FUCK of a fan club. Stupid RDU (A SHIT AIRPORT WITH SURLY REDNECKS AND NYC MOTHERFUCKERS AND THE MINORITY CUNTS THEY ARE). Also, the flight attendants that work for them are total deadbeats. I saw them sitting down doing nothing and using their cell phones while at cruising altitude. That is ILLEGAL! Another thing the stupid flight attendant cunts in this airline like to do is take popular songs and change the lyrics on them communicating flight information. What an insult to these people's music (except if it's stupid Justin Bieber and especially Britney Spears). Also, everybody who flies this shit airline is a distasteful S.O.B. I have NEVER been treated this way with other airlines. I am sorry to say that assigned seats are a HUGE must on a plane. Off all the airlines I have flown, this is also the ONLY one with all these seat-saving assholes (from the Confederate States of America and the Union). I know there aren't any baggage fees; but, like others have mentioned, the price actually is a little more or about the same. Other airlines are cheaper, but with fees. However, when you make calculations, it costs about the same as other airlines. Soutwest, I hope you go bankrupt to the point that your putrid workers lose their jobs and end up homeless on the street in Las Vegas. You all suck and you deserve to die the most brutal death by getting ripped apart by a mob of zombies.

I will NEVER fly Southwest Airlines again. The way I was treated, and not to mention my son who is military, was treated. The flight attendant asked me to stow my bag under the seat in front of me. I did not have a problem with that but my bag had photos of my son that could not be bent. I guess I was moving too slow for her and she went to grab my bag and said "I don't care what is in there, we won't take off until they are stowed." I proceeded to put them under the seat. Looking across the aisle (I have a picture), they had a bag of food and a backpack NOT STOWED under the seat and that was OK??? My son was embarrassed at the gate by the attendant taking boarding passes. Again he is military and she said she didn't care and what he had was not a boarding pass. However, it was the same item that he used on the first flight??? That was the first and last time I will ever fly with Southwest aka SOUTHWORST.

I have traveled with Southwest (SWA) for many years with superb service and satisfaction. However, on my recent trip last week from Oakland to Seattle, when I went to check-in the lines were totally empty. A young Latina agent, who identified herself as Beatriz, was laughing and talking with another young employee and both ignored me, only to respond with an annoyed, perturbed look when I asked to check-in. Because I interrupted their gossiping by asking Beatriz to do her job, she immediately responded with a negative, retaliatory tone, putting me "through the wringer" and at-length scrutinizing of my bags' under-limit weight and examination of contents.

Although I have flown before several times on SWA with baggage carrying carefully-packaged wine without problems, Beatriz insisted this time it was a major issue. Short story... just because I asked an immature SWA counter employee to do her job and act as a professional, she ended up wasting my time and charging me an extra $60 for additional, unnecessary packaging of wine and threatened to tack on another $75 for the extra luggage box necessary to encompass the unneeded packaging (almost doubling the cost of my flight)! My experience with this young SWA employee was disgusting and scam-worthy. Cannot fathom why this highly-regarded airline hires people like this and fails to train them properly?

I am stuck at the San Diego airport sleeping right next to a door that enters from the outside due to Southwest Airlines' inability to get me back to Charlotte. I have been here since 9AM this am. Because flights were cancelled to Chicago, I will sleep here, in an unprotected area until 5 am when they will finally allow me to check my luggage back through security and provide me the privilege to enter their secure terminal. I will then be allowed to fly to Dallas and then to RDU where Vince will pick me up after a 3 hour drive from our new residence north of Charlotte.

Because it was a fog issue in Chicago, Southwest will do nothing to accommodate my situation. So, I get back to NC a day late, at an airport that is now a 3 hour drive for Vince after sleeping next to an unprotected door. Here's my advice: NEVER FLY SOUTHWEST!!! If you never hear from me again, it is because I was mugged or abducted or whatever from SAN at the ticket booth at Southwest at SAN. That's where police can start the search for my body

I was at the DC southwest one. I had a 6:10 am flight. I came to check my bags at 5:35 am and they said I was late so I would have to take the one at 11 am. I came up at 10:30 am they said I would have to pay for a new flight because I should have rescheduled 2 hrs after the missed flight. The people at 5:35 am didn't let me know that information AT ALL. I wasn't even offered a discount, just basically told to get out of line and pay for a new flight. That was now $245 instead of the $150 I paid for ROUND TRIP.

I rebooked to an earlier flight via the telephone and spoke with a customer rep. I went to airport only to find out about the power outage in Ontario that affected terminal 2 and 4. Long lines, unable to print my pass or check in luggage. I left the airport and had to cancel my entire trip. I had to call my hotel so I would not be charged 1 night. That outage was just resolved today 9 17 15. When I called to rebook the person on the phone could have said something. As I write this review I do not have a phone. I don't constantly check things before I leave. It's just bs. Southwest has gone downhill. I also flew this airline in June 2015 and was stuck in Phoenix for 3 hours on a layover. I'm done with SWA.

I had purchased 4 round trip tickets for my family from Indianapolis to Tampa from Southwest. While departing on 11 September 2015 we had no issues, everything went smoothly but on our way back on 16th September 2015 our flight FL#472 was delayed from 7:20 pm to 12:00 am due to some technical issues. Initially I was very upset as I was traveling with two kids - a 5 and a 2 1/2 year old. But the best part was that they kept updating us about the flight status and didn't change the gates also and to top it off they gave each passenger a "$200" gift voucher valid for a year, which can be used in future ticket purchase!!!

I have traveled through other airlines - in fact last year I went to Orlando by U.S. Airways and my flight was delayed by 12 hours on my way back to Indianapolis. Everything was bad and disappointing. The staff was disappointing and they kept changing the gates and no reason for the delayed was explained and no compensation. Southwest has proved that they really care about their customers. Usually they don't give compensation but this time I guess it was an odd time quite late at night as we landed here around 2:00 am so they gave everyone a reason to be happy!!! At least I was extremely pleased and that's the reason I am writing this review - just a way to say THANK YOU Southwest!!! You are the best!!!

Flew Southwest from Rochester, NY to Las Vegas with a stop in Chicago Midway. At Midway there was a delay at take off of 45 plus min. They shut the plane down with NO ventilation to save fuel. On the return from Vegas flight 3804 they held the flight so they could move personnel not need for the flight to Chicago. They were late and caused everyone on the plane to miss their connections. Once the plane pulled away from the gate it had mechanical problems and had to return to the gate. Upon return to the terminal there were two gate agents to handle the mess Southwest created trying to move personnel on our dime. If a paying passenger is late too bad so sad.

In the terminal we were informed that there were no connecting flights and no hotels in Las Vegas and we all 100 would have to go to Chicago. Then we were told that we would get our luggage in Chicago and stay at hotel and everything would be ready when we got there. It wasn't and they only had two ramp agents who were nasty. They then called the police because people were upset with the way the situation was handled. They had 3 hours to get staff there and they did nothing. Many of us had sit in the airport for 12 plus hours because all of the other flights were oversold. This is the third time this year I have experienced a problem like this with Southwest.

I've been flying South West for years...many years, Just got home from another trip and the Chicago air port was a layover for me...Bad storm, delayed flight...which was fine, but they left my suit case out on the runway and when I got home every single items was drenched...tried for 2 days to get in touch, left messages and not one single call back...I sincerely hope that S.W. will not miss my being one of their repeats...the baggage handler at Midway in Chicago was loading them when I got on board, had a window seat 2 rows back from the loading ramp. I saw my suit case on the trailer...(mine is read and had a big bow on it so I could spot it easy when they are inside waiting at luggage pickup) Mentioned this to some friends and guess what? They had the same problem, My case is 5 years old...I can get the stain out for the front (I think) but the fact that two items were damaged and all were soaking wet? Well the dollar amount is about $100.....not a huge deal, and I can wash my own laundry...but IGNORE ME...at the price of a ticket, I will never fly South West again...They do not want to hear anyone's complaint... Well I'm putting mine on FACEBOOK on my timeline...Everyone will see that...Flights were all pretty good that I have taken, but this service thing did me in...

Southwest Airlines sucks! Really enraged right now. Nephew was supposed to visit ailing grandmother. Initial flight was from Phoenix to ATL (layover point). After boarding and waiting, flight was cancelled. SW screwed up by having maintanance done night before but not having it signed off. Because of the cancellation, he had a later flight to ATL and missed his connection to Ft. Myers, FL. New a/c was stuck in New Orleans due to wx, so he never made it that night. Nephew had to fight to get hotel, as SW said wx caused the huge delay. That's BS as their screwup in Phoenix was the initial delay. After much discussion, they provided a hotel. When he got to airport this morning, SW said he was on standby and wouldn't guarantee him a seat. They told him people often waited days to get to their destination. They refused to book him on another airline. WTF? This isn't a blizzard or a hurricane. They screwed up in the beginning, weather aggravated it, and they don't care to make him a priority.
This is what happens when the cattle call mentality drives the company. I hated it when SW bought out AirTran, which we flew regularly. Now I hate SW and hope they change or go under.
